- 4.1 新增:应确定气候变化是否为相关议题;
- 组织环境分析增加气候评估记录,结论留痕;
- 6.1.1 新增 d):增强预期效果;
- 拆为 6.1.2 风险、6.1.3 机遇两条,机遇成为独立要求;
- 6.1.2 注 1:中断期间持续提供合格品的风险;
- 应对计划拆成风险、机遇两张表;
- 组织环境分析报告(含气候评估);
- 风险与机遇应对程序;

The second instalment of our ISO 9001:2026 transition series: climate change moves into the main text, and risk and opportunity are split into two clauses. Both look like soft requirements, yet both demand written evidence during transition — saying "we assessed it" in conversation does not count as evidence in an audit.
▌ Clauses 4.1 / 4.2 Context of the organization
What changed:
- 4.1 adds: the organization shall determine whether climate change is a relevant issue;
- 4.2 adds a note: interested parties may have climate change-related requirements.
What to do:
- Add climate assessment records to the organizational context analysis, with documented conclusions;
- Review customer CSR requirements and contract clauses on carbon footprint.
▌ Clause 6.1 Risks and opportunities
What changed:
- 6.1.1 adds d): enhancing desirable effects;
- It splits into 6.1.2 (risks) and 6.1.3 (opportunities) — opportunities become a standalone requirement;
- 6.1.2 Note 1: the risk of continuing to provide conforming products during disruption;
- 6.1.3 Note: new practices, new products, partnerships, emerging technologies.
What to do:
- Split the action plan into two registers — one for risks, one for opportunities;
- Include disruption scenarios such as power outages and supply interruptions in risk exercises.
▌ Documents to update
- Organizational context analysis report (including the climate assessment);
- Risk and opportunity procedure;
- Risk and opportunity action plan (split into two registers).
One line to remember: soft clauses still need hard evidence.
Xuchuang's reminder: whatever the conclusion of the assessment, it only counts once it is documented.
