- 特性分两种:产品特性是零件身上量得出的(孔径、膜厚、扭矩),过程特性是参数本身(温度、压力、时间),编号列用于追溯;
- "特殊特性分类"列填顾客指定的符号——安全、法规、关键尺寸;按 IATF 16949 要求,打上符号的必须同时出现在图纸、PFMEA 和控制计划里,三处对不上就是不符合项;

The first time most people open a control plan, the dense grid of dozens of columns is overwhelming. In fact the table follows a clear logic: the left tells you "which operation", the middle tells you "what to control and to what standard", and the right tells you "how to control it and what to do when things go wrong". Sort out the column logic and the table stops being scary.
▌ Left Side: State Clearly Which Operation This Is
The leftmost columns answer "where the work happens". The operation number and name come straight from the process flow diagram — if the flow chart says OP30 Welding, this row of the control plan is OP30 Welding, and the numbers must match exactly so auditors can cross-check line by line. The machine, tooling and fixture column is often lazily filled in with just "injection machine", yet different models or cavity numbers can require completely different controls; auditors love to probe right here.
▌ Middle: What Characteristic, To What Standard
- There are two kinds of characteristics: product characteristics measured on the part (bore diameter, film thickness, torque) and process characteristics that are parameters themselves (temperature, pressure, time); a numbering column keeps them traceable;
- The "special characteristic classification" column carries customer-designated symbols — safety, regulatory, critical dimensions. Per IATF 16949, anything bearing a symbol must appear in the drawing, the PFMEA and the control plan at once — any mismatch across the three is a nonconformity;
- The specification/tolerance column has exactly one source: drawings and engineering standards. No tolerance in a control plan may be "invented" — mistype one decimal and a whole batch gets misjudged.
▌ Right Side: How to Measure, How to Control
The evaluation/measurement technique column answers "what to measure with" — callipers, CMM, torque wrench. Every gauge listed must have passed MSA; an unverified measurement system cannot control anything. Sample size and frequency define how many pieces and how often. The most critical column is control method: error-proofing, SPC charts, first/last-piece verification, self- and peer checks. The manual's principle is explicit — controlling the process beats controlling the product, and error-proofing beats inspection. If an error-proofing device is used, the verification method and frequency must be written down; the word "poka-yoke" alone does not count.
▌ Far Right: The Reaction Plan, Where Most Points Are Lost
Too many factories write just four characters here — "contain, rework". Contain by whom? Escalate how fast? Who investigates the root cause? The 2024 edition of the manual splits the reaction plan into "action" and "owner" columns, forcing accountability down to the position. A complete reaction plan reads: first contain (quarantine suspect parts), then escalate (inform the team leader and quality), then analyse (find the root cause) — and finally lock the countermeasure back into the control plan.
▌ Where the Table Comes From — and Its Four Forms
A control plan is never drawn from thin air. The derivation chain runs: the process flow diagram supplies the operations, the PFMEA supplies the characteristics and methods to control, the control plan supplies the details, and work instructions put it into practice. Since 2024 the control plan has been a standalone manual separate from APQP, adding requirements such as the safe-launch control plan (SLCP), rework and repair control plans, and reverse FMEA; the header phases have grown from three to four — prototype, pre-launch, safe launch and series production. Once you see the column logic, the new edition is simply more content along the same line.
One line to remember: scan any control plan from left to right with six questions — right operation? complete characteristics? accurate tolerances? verified gauges? realistic methods? an owner when things go wrong? Pass all six and the plan truly stands.
